The Functional Behavior Assessment is a three-part assessment that begins with an indirect assessment. During this time, the client will complete questionnaires and have an interview to discuss the problem behavior(s) and concerns. The second step in the process involves direct assessment. During the direct assessment, the client’s behavior will be observed in their natural environment. The final step is the functional analysis of the behavior. VB-MAPP Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment and Placement Program covers developmental verbal and social skills. There are 5 components to the VB-MAPP assessment. The Milestones Assessment contains 170 verbal behavior milestones across 3 developmental levels (0-18 months, 18-30 months, and 30-48 months) as well as 16 verbal operants and related skills.
