ACADEMIC & DEVELOPMENTAL DELAYS

Beverly Hills Behavior Analyst Concierge identifies academic & developmental deficits using the ABLLS-R Assessment and the VB-MAPP Assessment.

ABLLS-R

The purpose of the Assessment of Basic Language and Learning Skills Pre-Academic is to identify language and other necessary skills that a child needs in order to successfully learn in their natural everyday environment. This assessment may be appropriate for young children as well as older children who display delays primarily in language and social skills.

The ABLLS-R assesses the skills most typically developing children acquire by kindergarten. The ABLLS-R assessment’s goal is to identify and address the child’s skill deficits. The assessment covers 25 Domains within 4 areas that include Language Skills, Academic Skills, Motor Skills and Self-Help Skills. Upon completion, the assessment provides an organized hierarchy of skills, tailored to the unique needs of the child that must to be taught in order for optimal learning to occur.

VB-MAPP

Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment and Placement Program covers developmental verbal and social skills. There are 5 components to the VB-MAPP assessment. The Milestones Assessment contains 170 verbal behavior milestones across 3 developmental levels (0-18 months, 18-30 months, and 30-48 months) as well as 16 verbal operants and related skills. The Barriers Assessment examines 24 common learning and language barriers faced by children with delays and disabilities. The Transition Assessment evaluates a child’s ability to learn in a less restrictive educational environment across 18 different skills. The Skills Task Analysis and Tracking provides a further breakdown of the different skill areas in the form of a checklist for skills tracking. The final component includes the Placement and IEP Goals which provides recommendations for program development for children based on their VB-MAPP profiles upon completion.
